Bring Your School to the Shrine
Are you looking for an interesting place for a class field trip or day retreat, one that is perfect for Confirmation students, First Communion students, or any student group that would like to deepen their faith and learn about an inspiring Saint who walked the streets of Chicago?
The National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini is just that place, and has received a generous grant to help fund student pilgrimages.
The Ada Schupp Foundation
The Ada Schupp Foundation Pilgrimage Fund provides reimbursement of up to $500 in pilgrimage-related expenses for youth and young adult visits to the National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini.
Applications must be submitted by mail or by email to (director@cabrininationalshrine.org) at least two weeks in advance of your pilgrimage date. We will not consider applications filed concurrent with or after a visit. You will be contacted within a week of receipt of your application to let you know if you will receive funding.
Eligibility
Funding is available to:
- Church youth groups
- Catholic school groups
- Confirmation classes
- Homeschool groups
- Catholic campus ministry organizations
Expenses eligible for reimbursement include:
- Transportation costs: vehicle rental fees, gasoline costs at a rate of $0.14/mile, tolls, fares paid for public transportation
- Recommended donation to the Shrine of $5/person
The maximum amount available for reimbursement is $500 per group per visit. The Fund does not cover the cost of meals, housing, insurance, or visits to other venues. Each organization is responsible for organizing its own transportation to the National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini.
